I started in the financial industry in 1999, with a thirst for knowledge around investing. My journey allowed me to wear many hats over the years, but my passion has always been helping others see their true potential. This is why I decided to start my own financial planning practice. I wanted to have the tools to provide each client with what they needed to accomplish the goals we established for them.
Being a part of my community is an important way for me to stay connected and have access to the resources my clients may need. I currently sit on the board of Western States Center, University of Oregon Black Alumni Network, MESO Loan Committee and I’m an at-large member of the Girls Build Board. I limit myself to 3 boards at a time so that I can keep my commitment to staying involved with each organization.
I also love traveling as much as I love working. After my mother survived breast cancer in 2011, I realized that I shouldn’t wait to start crossing things off of my bucket list. So I decided to do 2 new activities and visit 2 new countries every year. This has made me happy, but my bucket list isn’t getting smaller since I keep adding new adventures.
In 2017, I moved back to Oregon to care for my grandparents. The family wanted to keep them in their home until the end of their lives. It was a lot of work and a lot of learning, but they both lived for several more years with quality of life, dignity in death and family by their side at the end. I have no regrets and it gave me a wealth of knowledge about creating caregiving plans and making sure your estate is in order.
I also married my friend in 2017, and we started planning our future together. We knew we wanted to spend every working calendar year in Spain, Oregon and Hawaii. So we started buying property one home at a time to bring the plan to life. My husband is from Mold, Wales and I’m from Portland, Oregon. We have no kids together, but adopted a 10 year old fur baby back in 2019. Life with a plan keeps us focused on the future. I would be honored to help you create your life plan too.
